Relative difficulty levels of our tours; EASY (1), EASY- MODERATE (2), MODERATE (3), MODERATE – HARD (4), HARD (5), VERY HARD (6), EXTREM (7), EXTREM + (8)

There are several factors that affect the difficulty of the tour; number of days, terrain, accommodation format, altitude and weather. As these factors are variable, this rating gives an overview. Although we try to make our rating system fairly clear, it may vary depending on your habits, experience and interests. Please read the tour detail information, do not hesitate to call our office for any questions you may have.

  1. TREKKING

  • EASY / EASY – MODERATE (1-2): Suitable for many people with good health. These tours perform at low altitudes and good, smooth paths can include short treks that can be carried out with basic trekking equipment. Accommodations generally have comfortable campsites with a pension / hotel or kitchen service. Luggages are transported by vehicles or transport animals.

  • MODERATE / MODERATE – HARD (3-4): Suitable for people with good health and fitness and weekend hikers. It includes short and medium treks on good and smooth paths and routes at elevations average of 2000 m and above. One day can be challenging and long. Accommodations generally have comfortable campsites with a pension / hotel or kitchen service. Luggages are transported by vehicles or transport animals.

  • HARD / VERY HARD (5-6): It is necessary to have a training and preparation process before going on this physically challenging tour. Snow and icy terrain and / or long-term expeditions at high altitude.

  • EXTREM / EXTREM + (7-8): These are the most challenging tours, performed in isolated areas with long expedition days and extreme heights. It can pass through glaciar passages and require basic mountaineering knowledge and equipment. Requires a high level of fitness and previously experienced wildlife and mountaineering experience.

2. MOUNTAINEERING / CLIMBING

  • MODERATE / MODERATE – HARD (3-4): Suitable for fit individuals such as weekend trekkers. There are short hiking days in the average altitude and a long peak day. Treks usually takes place on smooth paths and routes. It may include low slope snow and short free rock passages without safety equipments needed. Rope and safety materials usually do not require. Climbing experience is not required.

  • HARD / VERY HARD (5-6): It is necessary to have a training and preparation process before going on this physically challenging tour. These tours are suitable for those who regularly go to the mountains and trekking. These tours performed basic rock climbing terrains and / or performed long-term high altitude. It may require rope and safety materials on low slope snow surfaces and glaciar passages. Crampons and ice-axe experience may be needed, but training and practice during on the tour is sufficient.

  • EXTREM / EXTREM + (7-8): These are the most challenging, they perform in isolated areas with long expedition days and extreme heights. Climbing may consist of low-grade rock and / or ice climbing with continuous deep snow and crevasses. Requires high level of fitness and previously experienced wildlife and mountaineering experience. Preliminary preparations may be required.

3. FAMILY TRIPS

  • EASY / EASY – MODERATE (1-2): Activities of 3-4 days can be short treks, wildlife, sightseeing activities. Includes adventure and fun. No experience required.

  • MODERATE / MODERATE – HARD (3-4): Physically fit families will enjoy the nature, at least two consecutive days of trekking and then may have one night camp accommodation. One day can involve challenging activity or terrain.

4. MULTI ACTIVITY

Our multi-activity tours can include hiking, cycling, running, rafting, canoeing, sea-kayak, snowshoeing, skiing and other extreme sports. Please read the details of this summer and winter tours.

  • EASY / EASY – MODERATE (1-2): These comfortable holidays are suitable for many individuals with good health. Tour include various activities, but no experience is required.

  • MODERATE / MODERATE – HARD (3-4): Suitable for fit individuals and regular athletes who want to experience nature and extremes sports. Experience is not required.

  • HARD / VERY HARD (5-6): Suitable for those with active sports lives, such as trekkers and runners. These tours are physically challenging.

​5. WILDLIFE and SAFARI

The wildlife and safari tours are the tours where you can see amazing animals. It can be done by different methods; watching animal migration in the vehicle, watching whales, penguins on sea kayaks or boats, watching mountain gorillas on foot, traveling with sled dogs in arctic areas.

  • EASY / EASY – MODERATE (1-2): Tours are suitable for many healthy individuals. No experience required.

  • MODERATE / MODERATE – HARD (3-4): Suitable for physically fit individuals (weekend trekkers, cyclists). One day can be challenging.

  • HARD (5-6): These tours require physical challenging. Preliminary preparations is required.

  • EXTREM / EXTREM + (7-8): In these most challenging tours, long expedition days take place in isolated areas. Requires a high level of fitness and an experience of previously experienced wildlife and mountaineering.

6. SKI

Ski tours are varies as Alpine Skiing, Snowboarding, Nordic Skiing, Alpine Skiing.

  • EASY / EASY – MODERATE (1-2):  Hotel and / or hostel accommodation with ski slopes, ski resorts.

  • MODERATE / MODERATE – HARD (3-4): Tours at the average altitudes which require beginner level skiing practice. One day can be challenging and long. Accommodations generally have comfortable accommodation with pension / hotel or kitchen service.

  • HARD (5-6): It is physically compelling rounds that require preparation before starting the tour. You can stay in a chalet, village house, pension and / or tent. Requires practice of skiing and mountaineering.

  • EXTREM / EXTREM + (7-8): Tent and / or chalet accommodation takes place in isolated areas with long expedition days. Good skiing, avalanche and mountaineering knowledge and experience required.
